Yahoo Answers Account got deleted.

My Yahoo answers account got deleted. That’s ridiculous! Some of my answers even got the best answer rating. The traffic from Yahoo was OK not as much as others who are very successful with Yahoo Answers! I sent an email to Yahoo answers explaining this but did not get a response.

I guess I just use a different email address to create a new Yahoo Answers account.

What would you do if this happened to you??

Just an update - Yahoo replied and said that they cannot reactivate an account but still if I am interested, I can go ahead and create a new account. They advised me to read the Yahoo Answers TOS.

 

I suggest you dont use yahoo answers. They close accounts without any warnings. I heard a lot of people getting there account closed after they answered thousands of questions.

Instead of little traffic from yahoo answers, try other good ways to get traffic.

 

Actually, that's true. I did not a lot of traffic. Some topics seems to be more popular for traffic. I am begining to think it is not worth the effort. Even though the account is deleted, my answers at Yahoo Answers still remain and ocassioanally, I get some traffic.

When I was the top contributor overall in the advertising and SEO section I was deleted. Been at the top twice. It does not matter if a violation occurred. If 2 or more people report you the results are banned.

 

Just 2 or more people report and you get banned??? That sucks!

 

yeah happened to me as well, I don't use it any more and only tried briefly, the questions and answers are rediculous anyway, i think I was just warned several times .... dunno and don't really care either.

 

I think the only people who actually use yahoo answers are young kids, most of the questions are just stupid. And it takes a lot of effort for very little payoff.

 

Yup I don't know what value it has really, for a non-webmaster and everyday web user, it's sites like these that really benefit from webmasters contributions. Surely one day we will be recognized and allowed to take advantage of such a site and within a controlled environment of course.

 

Make a new account and start over. does your answers still there?

 

My old answers are still there. I may create a new account and participate in Y-answers only if I am really getting bored but will not take this too seriously as a source for targetted traffic.

 

i would have beena bit mad, since i had the best top rated answers too, but you know we gotta move on, since yaho dons't care wether one person's account got deleted.

I would not bother with new account same thing will happen.

 

Are they deleting without prior notice? or they only delete outdated Q&A?

 

haha! I think a banning from digitalpoint isn't too far away
