Yahoo answers is a good source for the quick boost of traffic for our sites but the answers shouldn't look spam which would get your account suspended sooner or later as they are very strict at that.

It is only because you are at level one of answerers. To make your link appear you must be at least at level 2. So keep contributing.

 

It helps in bringing some traffic but the down side is that its a 'Nofollow' backlink. I get about 20 visits a day from Yahoo Answers. I have to be the first or second to answer.

 

I dont think yahoo answers plays any role as far as SEO is concerned. Yahoo answers is simply a discussion place where people put their question and any one can post the reply.

traffic is one thing that you will get from yahoo answers. Only thing is, you just can't spam them with links and expect to be on top of the search engine.. like you said, the links are nofollow so SEO = no dice.

Well, You have to be a certain level in order to get a link towards your website. If you sign-up to Yahoo Answers and post your links, they won't be worth anything. Plus, they're not even links. I'm guessing Yahoo has disabled that feature because too many people were spamming their links.

If you read all the comments here, you will know that google do not value nofollow backlinks no matter what is the source, but nofollow links may be helpful in SEO.

Here i want to clarify that only backlinks is not SEO. SEO is much more than backlinks and link juice.
