It has done so for some of my links. The nofollow attribute may put off some but I get some good traffic from SERPs for some links which are only mentioned in Yahoo Answers (and sites that may have pulled the answers via RSS)

I agree, nofollow shouldn't mean anything to you if you're writing to honestly answer people's questions. Providing quality answers to people's questions can gain you respect as an expert in a particular field and will get you targeted traffic. If you don't have a means to put quality content like this on your own site (and have people view it) yahoo answers is a good jumping-off point.

This is one quite important point about getting significant traffic.

Could you please share any examples with us.

    Thanks.

Maybe your answer is not good. I mean they delete the answers that are not selected as the best answer. I think the reason is simply to conserve space on their server.

From my experience I get about 40 hits per hour spent in the personal finance section, worth it to me as a new webmaster but I assume not for the average DP user.

Within that time I usually post 30 answers (not just copied and pasted) that include my link, overall I'd say I get 60 hits from it because there is some overlap of people checking answers, etc. My website is about making money through surveys, etc. so it fits into the majority of the "how i do make muney online??" questions, some of them are just bored kids but every once in a while I get worthwhile visitors that check out a good portion of my site.

60hits for 30 non-copy-paste answer is good enough. You ever got deleted/suspended/reported?

    Hi,

We have had good experience with Yahoo Answers and Answers.com We have found that there are two reason for pursuing Yahoo Answers.

    1. You can target specific individuals seeking your products or services. Put in a variety of keywords to locate what is appropriate/specific to you. Your answer is then available to others that seek those keywords/phrases in the long run.

    2. By adding the http:// before your domain name in the response it will generate a link back to you. We have seen successfully has Google indexes Yahoo Answers. This helps increase your link popularity for inbound links.

When doing this be sure to genuinely answer the question being asked. A couple of minutes longer that you spend giving a good answer as a resource will gain you long term success with this marketing resource.

That's very true. My blog ranked PR 3 for yahoo ans honestly.
But if you post over 20ans a day (every ans with a link)...... They suspend that account. That is the main problem.

I am using Yahoo Answer and it bring a good result for a site. Yahoo answer will give a less traffic but with a link popularity for a site. Yahoo answer is now strict because most of the users used this as spam.

Your experience is not being seen by a whole bunch of other posters. I and many others still do well with Yahoo Answers. If I go and look at recently answered questions, many of them contain links as well. The top posters all give links in their questions where applicable and Yahoo gives them a highlight for their efforts.

This thread is getting old now and basically you are bumping this thread by repeating your same thoughts over and over again in spite of others giving other views.

I am unsubscribing from this thread now.
