Optimizing for Google Image Search covers everything.

The main thing to remember is it takes alot longer for the image bot to crawl your images compared to the regular SERP bot. So it takes time, it may even take 12 months to get all your images in image search.

    Thanks. :)

Alot of people don't realize Google have a duplicate content filter for Image Search as well, and i had never seen anyone talk about it on SEO sites hence the need for some testing and to write the article.

So if you have a site that relies on image search traffic like Wallpaper sites etc, and your images are from a widely sold image packs and on a million other sites, you will do "much" better by resizing them before upload. Even if it's a 5% reduction in dimension, this will also alter the filesize in bytes and help make it rank as an unique image. ;)
