In last few months i have seen a dramatic downfall of most of my sites in Yahoo. Although they are slowely catching up in google but surprisingle the most reliable search engine from SEO point of view is no longer a safe bet. It looks like they also have started put weightage on links like google. The same site which ranks on google with a certain keyword it is nowhere in yahoo with any keyword. However what surprised most is that there is no effect on blogs ranking. They are as it is. But all of my sites have slipped rankings in yahoo.

Looks like now MSN has taken place of Yahoo as the easiet optimizing search engine, but yahoo is updating itself on the ranks of google.

Is their any method to check out whether your site is backlisted in yahoo.

I agree, there seems to be some changes taking place. I never thought after they doubled their index last month that they keep all those pages (probably most of those pages are junk) still indexed in the Y directory. I think Y is following G's lead in trying to flush out the garbage and keep the credible content sites indexed. I think this is whats causing lots of ups and downs.

Buts its totally stunning that almost none of my site is there with any keyword. If it is just a temporary problem than its ok but if its a algorithm change it might be a disaster.

Have anyone got any idea regarding what has to be done now to get top rankings in Yahoo. Really i am absolutelly stunned by yahoo update and its really impossible to see all sites having lost in SERP results. But interesting is that all my blogs have maintained their rankings, which i cannt understand how is it possible when there is an algo change.

As far as checking if a site is black listed... I check to see how many pages are indexed and if I only see the homepage then I guess the site may have been axed for something.

But if the site is axed than all the pages will be removed from SERPS. Here the point is that what possibly could be the solution to get top rankings on yahoo again. What will be this update called like whenever there is a update in google some sort of name is given to it, same should be done here as its a big disasterous update by yahoo.

One interesting thing that i have discovered in recent yahoo algo change is that index page of websites having good amount of backlinking still ranks high, but all the internal pages goes missing in SERPS. So does it means that we will need to have some amount of backlinking for each and every page? The other pages are also indexed.
