Evidently the entire purpose is for Microsoft to go into a jealous rage and offer more than what they've already offered;)

Because it's spreading Google's power even further around the internet, exactly as they want to do.

In what terms? Google, interactively, are increasingly becoming bigger than Microsoft. Google's biggest factor - their search engine - is used over 5-fold what Microsoft's is. Microsoft dominate the Operating System world, simply because there hasn't as yet, apart from Mac and Linux, been anything making direct competition against Microsoft - I believe Google are now working on an Operating System and firmly believe Google will dominate that market before long, too.

Microsoft is a bigger company than Google but Google has a much bigger lead in an industry that is likely to dominate the consumer landscape for the next decade or two hence Microsoft will do anything to increase their share even if it means paying over the odds for companies such as their investment in Facebook.

id love microsoft to take over yahoo adapt googles crawler and then go against them, why? becuase microsofts PPC prog will probably gove more money out to get the webmasters in whilst google is giving us less and less.

I think three competitiors are fine and they should fight each other as they doing. If yahoo join microsoft or google with yahoo then there will be less competition and definately some other search engine can get chance to come up.

Yahoo is getting on my freaking nerves acting like a Bitch! MSN should pour those millions into advancing their own technology instead of being freaking intimidated like some scapegoats. Google will pawn all their asses anywhere, that’s how dumb Yahoo really is. Whiles Yahoo models and bend over to Google in an attempt to intimidate MSN, don’t forget Microsoft owns the freaking web, and has outsider business xBox, etc. Google will be pawing Yahoo’s retarded ass getting banged from the back, who’ll eventually be the fool overall? Yahoo is stilll the weakest link, this shadiness disgust’s me, Yahoo running around acting like they’re the holy grail, maybe not but teaming with Google, and trying to intimidate MSN? Only a dumb fucking immature would do that, especially when they’re really weak, the owner of MSN is on the list of the richest men in the WORLD.

I think Yahoo! just about had it with YPN, once they start using Adsense, they will surely make sure it never comes out of beta!

Yes, but what we are talking here is Internet war, and not the microsoft's IT company...

Microsoft is nothing compared to google on the web..

Yep, that's the point I tried making but some fools don't want to listen. Google is an internet-based company, basing their entire product range (at present) on the web, whereas Microsoft target home users with software such as operating systems, development tools, etc. Two completely different markets, when both companies really want their ducks floating in both ponds.

Therefore you could also argue that Google have software applications (much like Google) and Microsoft have a web browser. Same turf, different mow.

I agree with you that Yahoo is not just search engine but a huge internet company. Look at Yahoo stores, millions of stores are being created to get the search advantage of yahoo. Its easy to be ecommerce enabled using yahoo stores. Other than that yahoo has jobs, finance, music, news...... 10 different things that can add a feather in cap of Microsoft.

Comparing Google and Microsoft, the later has changed the computer as just a computing device while Google has given a web exposure to almost everything. But dont forget in millions of villeges or small towns the internet is not present but Microsoft windows runs on 99% of machines in the world.
