The YPN program is in beta right now. So currently it appears they are paying out more to folks to help keep people using the product, and hence have a successful beta test.

Once the beta is over, I would guess the payouts will drop down to be more even with Adsense.

So if you give them a try, I would recommend NOT dropping Adsense once you see the great payouts per click, but to instead try and utilize both on your site and see which one works out best in the LONG run (6 months from now).

Apply and find out.. they probably only want to deal with sites with a huge number of page views, but they also might like to accept a limited number of small sites just for testing.

You should give it a shot.

One of mine had 1800 visits and 16K pageviews last month and got accepted... far from huge and they let me in. :)

Too bad the CTR sucks for me.

It has been taking 2-4 weeks. They accept low traffic sites, but they may review the site for content. I know someone who was accepted that doesn't get 500 visitors a month - but their site is very well done.

They have a lot of bugs to work out as far as getting relevant ads to display - and they have a much smaller amount of advertisers so you can get the same ad displaying more than once - at the same time. I've removed it from some sites because they place ads that are so off topic no one will ever click them. They have a feature for ad targeting, but results are mixed.

I believe they also have "stop" words that keep relevant ads from displaying on certain pages.

If you have a site that gets relevant ads, the per-click payment will beat google across the board- but expect a lower percentage of clicks.

YPN works great for certain sites, horrible for others.
