Yahoo ads following me from previous sites

Has anyone else had this experience or be able to explain it? I won't list my sites here (for fear of being accused of being a spammer) but I'll explain the best I can.

I have a site related to the fundraising profession. I also have another site (I just created and started launching last week) that provides Clickbank information. The other day in my office, I was admiring my sites (they're only making about $10-$20 a day each so far - so the least I could do is admire them versus swim in all my new mony) I left the fundraising site and went directly to the clickbank site. Wouldn't you know it - a couple fundraising ads followed me from the fundraising site to the ClickBank site??? WTF? The keywords aren't even similar and I didn't click on either site.

Anybody know how that happens?? or had that experience?

    Best,

    The ClickBank Tutor

I think Google does the same type of thing. For example if I Googled English Bulldogs and then later was on a site for Banking -- I have seen English Bulldog ads on the Banking site.

Yeah. I actually did refresh my page and they were still there. I've only seen this once. But thought it was crazy. I'm not losing sleep over it - just found it odd...

Sounds like Yahoo is tracking your web visiting habits via cookies.

So many times over the last few months, I've noticed this happening on both my Mac and PC: I'll google, for example, "cars"
as I'm internet shopping for a new car. Then I'll open yahoo in a separate browser window to check my email and I'll all of a sudden be shown nothing but ads for cars. This happens almost immediately, and it lasts for weeks). And not just any cars but the specific makes and models I searched for. How does yahoo know what I'm searching for on google? It's happened with virtually everything I've shopped for since New Year's. What's happened? I don't want to delete my whole history; I want to be able to get back to what I looked for last time, but how do I get yahoo to stop stalking me?

Yeah - It seems like the Cookies but if not - I had a problem with a piece of bundle software i previously had and i have to admit it was more terrifying getting it removed - Try to uninstall any unfamilar software and have a good look.
Sometimes things are there - That are not neccesarily meant to be there.

    Hope this helped.

This is a fairly new practice, it's called re-targeting... It's only going to get worse. Deleting cookies and cache won't always solve it, they have more sophisticated ways to track you. Remember beacon? Facebook caught some heat for that a few years back, but now it's becoming common practice.

Yes re-targeting ads are very annoying while you are surfing around the net. However
if yo are a marketer then it can be very powerful. Many people who use this method of
advertising typically get more sales in the long run/back end rather than someone who
    markets using PPC.

They will not follow you for too much long, just continue to surf the web and ignore the
ads unless you are interested in what they are promoting.

It can seem scary, almost like the yahoo ads are stocking you. But that's the power
of re-targeted advertising. If you are a marketer yourself then you should take time out
    and look into them.

    I hope this helps.

    Be Blessed

You can get more experiences on Yahoo and Google. What do you think about that.
