Yahoo 1099 sent to my corporation?

    I received a 1099 from Yahoo, but it's for my corporation. I thought if you were incorporated, you didn't get 1099's? Aren't they strictly for individuals?

    Nope! Corps get them also. Flip the dude over and read the fine print on the back.

    Another little known fact is that if you buy more than 5K of product for resale there is another dumb form that is sent out.

    I am a corporation and I received a 1099 too.

    I noticed that I did not select 'Except from backup withholdings'. Should I have selected this option?

    Only people who have been notified by the IRS that they must allow backup withhokding are required to do it.

    No harm done by you not checking the box, you just prepaid some taxes. Be sure to point out the withholding to your CPA.

    No taxes have been witheld from my monthly checks.
