Yahoo $1.99 .com's Question

Hey everyone, so when it comes to domains I'm not the most knowledgeable, I recently noticed that Yahoo is having a deal where you can pick up .com's for $1.99, after looking into this I realize they get you by charging $34.95/year after your term expires (so if you bought it now for $1.99 for 1 year, then next year you would have to renew it for $34.95...) Basically I had an idea, would I be able to buy 5 or 6 of these domains that I want for $1.99 each, then after the minimum 60 day requirement before you're allowed to transfer domains, transfer them to say my GoDaddy, or Name.com account, then once my 1 year comes up and I gotta renew them I can use eg. Name.com's rate of $9.99 (or whatever it is, not 100% sure on there renewal price but I know it's cheaper than $35..). Also, is transferring domains free? If anyone could help me out by answering these questions it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Believe that yahoo will not let you transfer out.
Or at least not transfer out for the first year.

At least that was their policy not long ago.

    Agreed with what iowadawg said.
Grabbing domain names from accredited registrars with decent prices for both new registration and renewal is always wise choice.
well, if you just wanna 1-2 domain names, and will only keep them for 1 year, then take yahoo as a shot, good luck! - Helen
