How will recent MS - Yahoo deal influence Yahoo directory? Will it continue to exist after the deal takes place? Will submission to it have the same value as it has now?

I don't think even Yahoo know, it's all up in the air. But considering they're planning on axing Yahoo's search index in favour of Bing, I don't hold out much hope for a service such as their directory.

The directory has always been a good money maker and Yahoo’s heritage. I don’t think you will see any changes in it at all.

Yahoo was originally a directory and I do hope they will retain the directory and will continue to be useful.

To the best of my knowledge, the deal spells Bing powering Yahoo search results and Yahoo handling advertisement sales for both companies. I don't see how Yahoo directory will be affected.

i think yahoo's dir will stay and act as a powerful directory.

I actually think the value of a listing there would increase. When i got my sites listed in there they were dropped from Y! natural search. now there is no Y! natural search anymore (which is good)
