thats more of a BH method of 'blasting' your site to tens of thousands even millions of blogs, forums etc, kind of like a giant spam session
I've had a fair bit of success making directory submissions with SliQ Submitter by submitting to 50 or so sites every few days. By picking good categories your links are more likely to end up in relevant pages.
