    It may but most people are not liking it...i dont find it as user friendly as I would like mainly with program compatibility

    Not in my books. I run XP on this machine and I have a powerful new laptop running Vista. This machine kills the laptop for speed and the laptop has a great deal less stuff on there. This machine has HEAPS on it and still runs fast.

    I also know others that bought a new Vista machine and hated it so much they reformatted the drive and installed Win XP and could not be happier.

    Lucky you mine didn't....I have had to reinstall vista 3 times before i got fed up and went back to xp. If I installed a program it didnt like it would jsut keep blue screening.

    I have old PC which doesn't meet the minimum requirement of Vista.. hence I haven't tried it...so far XP is best for me..

    Xp is by far the best operating system I have come across. Vista is quite demanding on system resources and those I cannot afford to buy. And even then i like XP for the plethora of applications they support

    The GUI is more beautiful yes but that is not the reason is better. That's the problem with the users starting in computers, they see the exterior but don't know anything inside and keeps telling people is better and better...

    Do a search in any tech related website about Vista vs XP. You will find why XP it's still more popular than Vista (right now), and why Linux is getting more popular now.

    This is a endless topic....
