    I have never even seen vista in person, and really don't care to. I love PCs, and have grew up on them, but the next thing I get is going to be a macbook! booyah

    Why would they think that developing an OS that needs twice the processing power and twice the Ram of it's predecessor would be a good idea?

    It makes absolutely no sense to me, I unfortunately "upgraded" to vista and it's about as fast as my old machine, now that I have put 8 gig of ram in it. (My old XP had one gig).

    Vista is an absolute DOG and you can't seem to turn the TV on without it telling you how "good" Vista is within half an hour. Take it from the people who have used this OS... Use anything but Vista, or be prepared to need a lot more Ram than you are used to.

    Installed Vista for a week, didn't like it, downgraded to XP.
    Now with new PC w/ quad core and 8gb memory, considering Vista again.

    Vista, why? My new pc came with vista, and i installed xp pro on it and it kept crashing. Vista never crashes. So why go back?

    It's funny how some people are obviously just against vista without using it. I have almost no trouble getting programs and such to work on vista. Actually it hasnt even happened one time for me.

    Why not just use the updated programs :p

    Can't get windows 3.1 progz to work on 98 either.

    In a sense I think Vista is much like ME, a transition.. before XP the was ME which lasted a few years but not really a hit, XP is stable and Vista is beautiful but hungry for memory... and I think the stable one would be Windows 7

    -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7.

    :cool:

    that SP really fixed a lot of the underlying issues in Vista. I was really impressed by Microsofts efforts, but will only switch from XP if I really have to.
