    I voted XP.

There should really be another thread/poll.

Where are you going after XP.. Vista / Leopard / Vienna.

Now that would be an interesting one ;)

DX10 will become important because many software publishers will start writing apps that require it; when this happens it will be time to upgrade to Vista. Until then, I'm sticking with XP. Hopefully by the time I must upgrade to Vista, Microsoft will have patched most of its errors.

I believe most errors will be fixed no later than June. That is the time I will tell people they need to seriously consider upgrading to Vista.

True until most of vista errors are fixed (whenever that is) it wont be worth upgrading.

Well as I said unless you have the money to waste its not good to upgrade an OS in its first year of release....and that applies not only to Windows but Linux and Mac:p

I vote for Vista. I personally run x64 version and didn't have any problems with drivers unlike my previous attempt to go 64bit on XP.

Why do I need x64? Some of the computing tasks that I run actually need 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately 8GB seems to to be the limit unless you want to get server hardware... :(

I vote for Vista. Sure I have had a few niggly problems with it, but I also had problems when XP first came out many years ago.

Alot of you are too young to remember the transitional pains going from Windows 98 to XP. I am even old enough to remember the switch from Windows 3.1 to Windows 98!! (I can even hear some of you say "Whats Windows 3.1?")

Wanna talk about performance? Try Installing XP on an Intel 233 MMX, 2Gb Hard Drive with 256 MB of Ram!

    :D

Dont worry, Vista will get better or hardware will get better just like in the past and you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

    ;)

I say XP at the moment due to the bugs in Vista, if they iron out a lot of the bugs then Vista will be a decent operating system
