XP Date changes on every reboot

hi Guys

My xp machine keeps change its date on reboot. Goes back 1 year everytime!

CMOS battery good, bios date right, but date in windows xp keeps changing.

if i reboot the computer 3 times, it will go back 3 years.

Any advise.

What about the computer date? The one that appears in your BIOS? does it change as well? If it does not then it must be something wrong with XP. Back up all your important data and try to do a reformat.

The bios dates are perfect and this is a newly formatted machine.

 

Scan your computer for viruses man

 

or change the battery of your motherboard if it's too old.

 

Have you checked you motherboards CMOS battery, it could well need changing.

 

hmmm if your cmos battery is still good then go to the bios setting and configure again the time and save then try to reboot.

 

Check your CMOS battery & Scan for viruses .This type of Malfunctioning can be caused by some trojan as well so scan for viruses and trojans.
