If he is trying to send Paypal funds to you... then I am sorry he will not be able to do so, but if he is using any other source like his own bank account or credit card, he will surely be able to send you funds through xoom directly into your bank account! :)

Then its possible. Moreover that you'll get good exchange rate (46+) as of now at xoom. BTW you can try out WU for that as well.

If the amount is huge, you can advise your client to even consider bank wire transfer as he will be able to save on fees as well... along with you getting good conversion rate! :)

Yes as said by RightMan in above post, I will also prefer to use wire transfer if amount is bigger than $2500 b'coz Xoom has certain limits. But he/she can go for Xoom as it is one of the best way to send money to India nowadays...

There are several ways to transfer funds from usa to india.
if one is not intrested using payment system like paypal etc..
XOOm is wonderful if ACH attached.. and only 10hrs time, and u can receive directly into your Axis account. All private banks offer good exchange rates.. even better than the SBI.
then the best way is wire. But not for the smaller transfers. its good for above 1k$.
if you want to receive a regular payment monthly..or frequently.. then u need to think... to cashout instantly using an ATM debit card. wire usually takes 4days excluding holidays and weekends.

Ikobo and ATM cash are the systems with the feasibility to cash out form a local ATM (one time investment for ATM card) but instant withdrawals.
no need to answers the tax guys. if u want to be anon, then.. its best way.

Only try to cash out from an Axis or Icici atm.. do not use.. even SBI atm. loss of exchange.

    xx

    :)
