With Paypal Checks, you do not pay any extra for shipping as long as you meet the minimum withdrawal amount. However, there is that 2.5% exchange fees which may be tagged on during the conversion. Paypal checks are drawn on an Indian based Citibank which means once you get the check, it will clear like a local check.

With Xoom, you pay a $8 to $15 Xoom charge if you use their service and you should get your money a whole lot faster.

Well, they need to make money so unless you find a business that does not want to make money, it's pretty much your choice. It is just the cost of doing business.

The minimum from the website is US$25 through Xoom.

    Check out https://www.xoom.com/fees?disb=deposit&co=IN&amount=

Basically, you are paying for the convenience. See if you need the money urgently or not.

here is a little problem I had with xoom.
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2606147&postcount=13

In my case the Xoom through TPO sent the check to UBI instead of UTi.
So If you are using xoom transfer money to HDFC/ICICI/CITIBANK/HSBC bank account which allows electronic fund transfer.

Cheque from paypal takes a LOT of time.

i suggest xoom, if you have a verified account!!
that is sending limit not fixed.

paypal checks takes 20-45 days to come, so a xoom transfer is quick. though i have never used the transfer yet! but then people say it works well,

fees will be there, paypal and xoom fees will be all applied!
just don't use the pickup, transfer to bank by xoom, and every thing will be fine:D

I think you should go with xoom as it is fast. Also there is a code available(search in DP and you will find it) to waive the $8 fee.

If you talk about the pricing Xoom charges more but you will get it much faster than paypal check (around 1-3 days depends on what you will choose on their service). Paypal check took long before you will get it. I think it's around 20 days before you will receive your check.

Just wondering if its possible to send your money india to india transfer? I know for a fact that you cannot do these. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Yes, You can transfer Funds from India to India using Xoom. If you want you can also send an email to Xoom regarding this issue :)

And yes, I too recommend Xoom as its fast and also Reliable. Fees is an issue and the Codes were available but has expired now, waiting for new codes :)

    Regards,
    Kulwinder.

Wait for more 5-6 days IMO then send them email through their contact page and request them to stop payment of that check (they deduct $15 for stop payment of check) and give you refund of your money after deduction of that fees.

It's not fixed rate swapnil. It's depends on current rate and change daily.

At the time of withdrawal they show exchange rate like 1 US$=xx.xx INR
