Anybody have experience with Xoom.com? I need to recieve about $20k USD from a few people and refuse to use paypal. Is Xoom reliable? They've been around for quite a while, so I would like to hear any feedback from people who have actually sent/recieved money through it. Thanks

For that amount, I would believe that Wire Transfer is a safer option since it is all done through the banking systems. I believe the max you can receive from Xoom is just US$2,500. For the start, they let you do $1,000 a day and a maximum of $3,000 a month. It will indeed take almost forever to send the $20k through Xoom and it would certainly be costly.

Well you can use Xoom and there are many people using it since it's a good and reliable service provider. You just need to send your information to buyer and money will be in your bank account in 4 days around.
Yeah, I know what a few is. My assumption is that a few is like anything between 3 to 5. Then I guess he probably means 10 or so. No worries, I just want to state the obvious about the limits each can send just so that he knows what the limitations are.
I would prefer a wire transfer instead if I were you. The transaction cost for using the service via xoom can be very high, something like 1USD for every 25USD compared to only 40USD for a single wire transfer amount. The sending cost shall be borne by the sender, so I think you need to check whether your customer would want to use it in the first place.
They payments are coming through on multiple credit cards. Most banks won't send a wire that's funded by a credit card, so we're trying to online processors.
Then just give it a try to XOOM for first transaction and after sucess go for other transactions IMO. DON.
i been using Xoom from the last two months and i am really happy with there service.... its real faster and deposit the money inside my SBI account in 3 days... i can guarantee you xoom is very reliable... and once the money is inside your bank, there is no way it can be reverse or chargeback... also it have very good fraud protection and all transactions are reviewed by there security department as soon as a transaction is made... so if something is wrong then xoom will cancel the transaction.... very nice service...
