Hello friends, Please tell me which type of site map is preferred by Google Search engine, XML or HTML. Please give your opinion. Thanks for your Help.
I would use XML if you are able to easily generate it as outlined in http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.html as you have more flexibility of some of the options you are able to include and can also expand on it to create video, image or mobile sitemaps, all very useful. Yes. XML sitemap is for search engine so that the search engine can crawl your site more easily while HTML site map is for the users so that they can see the whole images of your website ....
when we submit html sitemap then search engine convert it in to xml sitemap. But when we submit xml sitemap then it's no need to convert .It is one of the fast way and time consuming way.
Is there any resource available on internet to know better about site map and its related with traffic and site reputation.
I would recommend using both on your site. XML sitemaps are the clearest for the search engines, but html sitemaps are useful too as they provide internal links for your site's pages and also are of great use to the user, which Google likes.
XML sitemap for crawling for google. google visit xml sitemap then crawl all link which we add in xml sitemap. and we can submit it via google webmaster tools...
XML basically use for Google to cache any web site and HTML is use for users to see the inner pages of any website!
Because a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.
1. xml-sitemap.com only provide sitemap for 500 pages only if our site is more than 500 pages means how to i create sitemap ? 2.what is this code stands for can anyone explain me ? <url> <loc>http // www. examplewebsite .com/</loc> <changefreq>always</changefreq> <priority>1.00</priority> </url>
A sitemap actually helps search engines to crawl a site easily as a sitemap gives access to pages easily.
Hi, The XML site map is a file that lists the URLs for a site. It allows webmasters and search marketers to include information about each URL such as when it was last updated, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs in the site. The HTML site map can be easily integrated into the "look-and-feel" of a site.
Sitemap very important in website. XML sitemap are use only backside work of website(this not usefully of users) Html sitemap created for users usefully XML Google friendly Html user friendly
The function of XML and HTML sitemap are not same. XML sitemap is to be generated for Google as we need to submit Google sitemap is webmaster tool. HTML sitemap is for user, here user can view or get their link easily.
