    XML is better, but html also okay. XML-sitemaps' premium version is best for a forum

    XML format Sitemaps are good for forums as this format is acceptable by all major SEs without any trouble. On submitting HTML Sitemap to Google, you will get some notification regarding Sitemap format.

    I Prefer xml sitemaps using news feeds. This is best than other generated sitemaps.
