I am looking for a person to implement hotelscombined.com affiliate program into my existing site, as a private label product. I don't know much about XML, so you'll have to bear with me. I have an existing website. Hotels Combined provides a database in XML format so that affiliates can integrate the existing content into their own site. What I want from you is to integrate the database and search functions into my own site. Here is a PDF they provide for more information on what I am trying to accomplish. They way the make it seem, it appears to be fairly easy. (See the second paragraph title XML/CSV Datafeed) Looking to have this completed within 5 days. Still looking...... This thread gets a lot of views. So if you are a programmer who is familiar with XML but don't want the job, please explain why so that I know what I need to do to get the job done
First off, your first post sounded like you were in a rush to get the job completed. Second, this isn't your fault, but the docs provided are sparse on details. Hard to get an idea of what is involved in the project from limited information. You don't have to have an XML programmer, the data feed comes in CSV and it *looks* like all of the information would just be pumped into a database and spit back out. So any programmer who's built a database driven site (and who hasn't) could do the task. Also, its kinda hard to point out an XML implementation. This discounts any RSS based project which uses XML but does little to prove anyone's skill level. Some points to clarify would be does the data have to be updated? How often is it updated by hotelscombined.com? Everything looks simple, until you hit the part about checking prices... I doubt that information is provided via the feed interface. I could be wrong on that part but if it is, it would require fairly regular updating. Or the more likely scenario would be fetching the data from them but that part isn't clear from their docs. That could be it? Or maybe everybody's busy. I don't know.
