Shawn I am very keen for my excel files to be available on Google, however, I don't want to have to add the text links to the spreadsheet. Can you exclude .xls and .pdf and .doc etc type files from your api lookup? The site Luggage Tags - www.taggs-r-us.com is continually getting taken offline due to an excel file being selected by the network. Thanks
It does already... although the problem is that Google only accepts 10 parameters total in the query (including exclusions). At some point I'm going to let people set the exclusions on a per site basis. That way ones that are not relevant to them will be the ones used.
So if there are already exclusions, how come I have just received a failure notice in the last 6 hours due to ads not being found on a .xls file? What files are not in the exclude list - due to the limitations you mention? Thanks for your prompt reply Shawn
It is in the exclude list already, but towards the end (since they are less common than others). Depending on the URL of your domain/site, that part of the query can take a variable number of the 10 "words" allowed in the query.
The file in question was http://www.taggs-r-us.com/luggage-tag-images/id-card-accessories-list-pricing.xls The domain name doesn't have too many characters in it? The rest of it is rather long.
