    Hi ,

I am currently designing some quite basic brochure sites , the only pages that need to be dynamic are the Home and News page , can anyone point me in the direction of an intuitive and (possibly Free) CMS platform to use , PHP is not my strong point unfortunately !!

    Many Thanks

I would suggest you to use WordPress. You may easily change the URL of the blogging space so it can be used as a cms as well. Customizing the template is very easy and you may browse among wide variety of free templates which provide different layouts.

Hi, seems to me Wordpress or any such blog is overkill. Too big, too hard, too confusing for many people.

I have a CMS which is unique and is used in most of my client sites. I can fit it very, very simply into any hard coded html pages. Just replace current text with simple line of code that calls the content. Simple interface consisting of one text field per content block of web page. No admin, no page creation or menu creation, etc. Just content editing.

No mySQL database needed (content is stored in XML files automatically), but the site has to be on a Unix/Linux server with the PHP module available.

See my site australdata.com.au click on web design > carts & CMS > australfx lite

Let me know if I can help.

    :)

I think any CMS will be big and have lots of features that you don`t need, but if you can`t develop a custom php script just for your site, or have someone else do that for you, wordpress is the way to go.

If you don't know what you're doing with php, then WordPress is always the way to go. Changing the entire look of your site can be done with one click of a button in WordPress - and there's literally thousands of free templates to choose from.

    Good luck.
