I guess you can buy some HD DVDs with the money you saved --- Sony have screwed their users in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. But regardless of the price (I paid $700 AUD for my PS3), the PS3 is a seriously nice bit of hardware. As much as I like to slag off the Xbox - who really cares ... different strokes for different folks. There are enough idiots out there claiming that video games are making their kids go out and shoot prostitutes etc... in the end, gamers should stick together - regardless of what console/handheld they're using.
Yeah, i'm not disagreeing that the PS3 is a nice console, I think it's just too much for what people are looking for at the moment, they tried to make it too good and the games havn't caught up with it yet (there arn't any games that show it's true potential as of yet). In my flat we have a lot of consoles including both of these (my flatmate does a games design course at university), i've had a lot of experience playing both, and I just like the xbox better for the games, thats all. I like the PS3 better for the controller (i'm much more used to it) and other things, like blu-ray, etc. The 360 just has more games that appeal to me (and more games in general). There isn't many good games for the PS3 that you can get that are only for the PS3, even GTAIV was on the 360 as well.
