wamp is pretty good program, i am currently using it and you can have a simple site up within minutes after wamp install. xxamp is jsut as good. Couldnt tell you the differences. THey both include php & mysql

XAMPP is good. I have used uniform server and found it working on machines where xampp refused to work.

Hardly any difference. The same thing in different packaging.

I have used xampp extensively and would recommend xampp over wamp. Though both are pretty identical, perhaps I am just more used to XAMPP over any other. It would give you a good start to test your sites locally before you move on to real web servers.

    Cheers

Don't think either one make any different though. As long it working for you, then it's fine. I'm myself using AppServ. :D

I have not used xampp, but I use wamp. So, I cannot compare the two and say which is better. But as said by other, there is no difference. All works same.

For me installation of wamp took just 2-3 minute, and another 2-3 minute to install wordpress and I start playing with wordpress on my windows 7.
