Hi, I have created one website using the latest wordpress version 2.8, there was a problem in using WYSIWYG Edtitor, i could not able to see any buttons like "bold", "Underline" in Visual Mode, but i could able to see them in "HTML" Mode, unwanted <br>, <p> tags are added before adding the content, i don't have any issues with the older versions of word press installation, If you have any idea of trouble shoot this then Let me know.
Hey there, I was also having problems with the tool as well a few weeks ago and I posted about it as well. But my problem was, I would try to upload pictures with the tool in wp admin and it would make Firefox browser crash. I thought this was weird because Firefox is the Best IMO. Anyways, my computer was crashing right after I installed 2.8.......I was going crazy for a few hrs. Then, my dad a computer programmer suggested if for sure no virus or spam problems then do a routine system clean in main cpanel of your computer and also defragment my files and make more space. I did both which is found in the main cpanel of your computer and worked liked a Charm! My computer works better than ever..... I know this isn't exactly the same problem your having but I would try and see if it does the trick. I think it should work. Unless it's a virus of some sort? But my tool on wp admin would always act weird. And this was all solved as soon as I did both suggested above. I hope this helps
Hi, Thanks for your response, i think the problem is not because of antivirus and spyware, there was a conflict with latst version of the word press and wysiwyg editor, the editor is still working fine for me in older versions of word press i am using for couple of sites, if any body using word press 2.8 and facing the same problem or how they came back will be help ful, also intersted to know whether this editor is working for any body who uses word press 2.8 version.
That's why I said to do the system cleaning and file defragmenting in your main Cpanel! not a virus or spam.......I said if FOR SURE NOT A virus or spam then do the two things above. What do you gotta lose by trying it?.....Nothing. But a cleaner and faster computer. Yes mine wysiwyg works perfectly after I did both of the things I mentioned. I didn't have virus or spam. RU sure you read my whole post? I USE WORDPRESS 2.8 AND WORKS PERFECTLY FINE.......DONT TAKE ADVICE....that's cool.
ramgay is right on the explaination of your problem knight1. It's a firefox and wordpress issue, not your spyware filled computer and wordpress. @ramgay File permissions are messed up with your Wordpress installation. If you have access to your host via SSH, change ownership of files under wp-admin and wp-includes to nobody (that's for Apache). If you don't, upload your files manually. The usual cause of the problem is the scripts installing/upgrading Wordpress 2.8.

Do you guys just read the first 5 words of posts made? I didn't say I had a problem either! It wasn't firefox problem and it wasn't WP problem and I didn't say I had a spyware filled computer and it's not wordpress.
If it's not any of those mentioned, so what's the problem then? And don't reply that you HAD to run a system cleanup. That's a solution, not a problem.
