Hello, I am curious about these things. But after several googling got only world war 1 and world war 2 results !!! About WWW I am clear. But do not know what are WW1 and ww2. But all the three are being use equally in URLs. For example - WWW - http://www.google.com/ WW1 - http://ww1.aaa.com/ WW2 - http://ww2.titantv.com/ Can anyone explain these things a bit? Atleast can you refer some sources that have explanation? I will check this page often for your reply. Thanks in advance.
A subdomain. Usually they are used to split the site in case of multiple servers - www could be equal to server-1, ww1 to server-2, etc.
Subdomain?! I do not think so! Thank you very much for your fast reply. WWW is World Wide Web - http:// en.wikipedia .org/wiki/World_Wide_Web. If these all are subdomains then why http ://www. ww1. aaa .com/ and http ://www. ww2. titantv .com/ returns no page? [please omit the extra spaces form domain name]
eg: www1.dell.com , www2.dell.co.uk, www3.dell.com.be it is used for big companies to handle so many visitors, at different area... in order to make their server performance speed.. please correct if im wrong...
RapidShare for example uses www2, www3 and so forth in order to spilt their servers. For example not all files can be stored on just one server as it won't be able to process the load smoothly.
