I realise this has been covered many times, how ever i believe I have covered all the points, basically my site with a new perspective? to add insult to injury the pages over the wkd left sup index then reentered on mon morning ... yeesh site:www. url - yields 93 results 85 of which are supplemental and using site:url yields 120 ish pages 112 supplemental in the site:url the pages which it classes as sups are exactly the same as the ones in site:www so its canonical , but i have changed pref on sitemap, and done redirects at server from non www to www , made sure all content is orig anything else because it really is a pickle thanks
Just redirect all your non-www pages to the www equivalent, trough htaccess. And from now on, link only to the www pages.
cheers Cristian , i did the redirects approx 2 weeks on server using iis due to it being on a windows server, any idea when it will take affect from from previous experience?
I normally submit all sites with the www. and to be sure, I redirect all .domain.com links to the www. domain .com links to ensure all the SEO benefits are there. Cristian is right, just do it through .htacess here's another good resource http://www.yes-www.org/www-is-not-deprecated/
thanks Fs thats what i have done , so basically there is nothing else i can do and i have to wait it out?
oki i suppose it gave me hope when they all left the sup index friday so better traffic over weekend then reentered the sup index monday morning, ideal not lol , hopes its a reflection of the future them all leaving the sup index, cheers guys
You have to wait until each page gets reindexed again. Check the cache dates. That's how long you have to wait, and it all depends on how many links you have towards your domain.
so they will leave the index of their own freewill dependant on links etc, i assume the leaving the sup index was a rollback ? or just freak incident
