Thank you. For development I was thinking Forums only. Maybe add forums like offers and websites. This would allow the seller of the signature to post what website the signature is at, and what potential market share would see the signature. Maybe also another forum signature sales that are between 100- 200 posts a month, 200 - 300 posts per month ect... so people can get an idea of the going price ïŠ How popular is the website the sig is at how much traffic etc.. this will all come into affect!!
Probably worth low $xx completely undevelopped but it would be amazing if you could develop the concept. Great idea! Run with it. Skinny

Thanks everyone. now here the biggest questions overall. well maybe a couple lol #1. How do I make it so people selling their Signatures can be trusted? #2. how do I offer customer service to the point where if a Signature seller decides to take the money and say forget it I'm keeping the money and not giving the signature away? #3. How do I go about making and accepting payments? I was thinning the seller would offer the signature for sale, and then the payment can go in a pot. Once the deal or sig sale is expired the seller gets paid? This would ensure payment right or something similar to this?

You need to code a system were members can log in and buy and sell sig links through it and instead of going to that site and putting the link it they could have a code from your site they just put in and once they pay the link is automatically updated. You also need to marktet the site a lot.
I don't think that will work. This has to be based on a timely environment. #1. NO forum owner will allow an external script to be ran on their forums. #2. Script or not the Signature owner can still modify the signature and steal from our users. I think the best way to go about this would be the pot idea or someway to make the purchaser pay and the funds get held by the site until the cycle is complete and then the signature seller can get paid.
On the domain, I think mid to high $XX It's short, easy to remember, and a .com Develop it and it will be worth $XXX Good luck with the idea
I really feel excited about this idea; I only fear a total ignorance on part of forum owners! I hope this doesn’t happen! I have started arrangements to develop a mod with a phpbb mod developer which will allow Sellers top post their Signature for rent and buyers to place bids on the rent price. Duration will be weekly to start and might even grow to monthly rentals. Everything will be approved by the administrators and payment will be accepted via PayPal to start. All Buyer payments will be held in an “sigsell PayPal†account and when the duration is completed the seller will be paid in full minus transaction fees and 5% royalties go to sigsell.com The bidding will happen via a calendar where all the initial post offers will automatically be sent to. Week durations will start on Monday and end on Sunday. The sellers bid can remain the same and entered in the calendar on a yearly basis if wanted, Or added individually via post to post occasion. The Week of the sellers Availability will have to be posted Sunday at or anytime before 10pm Minimum to be accepted into the calendar bid This is what I have come up with so far.
How about taking the eBay approach? Seller pays you a portion of the sale amount just to list the link. Buyer pays seller directly. Failure on the part of the seller to add the link is buyer problem (not yours). You can ban bad sellers, but then you won't have to worry about refunds or escrow. There are a lot of forum users out there, and if this started to take off, it could be mighty difficult for you to handle all the requests yourself....

If you feel in anyway you will not get paid for your Sigsell simply pm the user, deny their request, and delete their post. If you do decide to agree make sure you have the buyer post and agree to your terms and conditions you set out for the buyer prior to the sell. This post will work as a receipt and proof of purchase. I will see what I can do and attempt to develop a simple template to follow but it will not be guaranteed or law binding in anyway. Just a simple basic offer template that clearly stats the buyer agrees to pay the Seller 100% what was stated in the Sigsell post and the seller agrees to advertise the forum signature for the full duration set out in the agreement between the buyer and seller. You will also 100% fully Moderate the forum in which you display your signature(s) for sell. This will allow you to lock you own topic when the sigsell is completed or delete unwanted bids/offers.. Your personal forum like the example bbrian017 will be password protected and you can allow only the buyers you deem worthy to have access. Visit soon for updates and calendar availability. But you forget about competition, sig-link.com They have been around for ages and also offer a great sig link price tool. IMO they haven't really done well not many people sell sigs on websites and so I don't really seeing it being that successful sorry, thanks
