When I use URL rewrites it makes my URL stay rather www. or just http://. What is the best to use or have? http://domain.com http://www.domain.com Is it best so it redirects to "www." when entered without the "www." or to redirect from "www." to "http://" without the www.? Or is it best to have it so if you add the www. it stays like that and if you don't it stays the same also? What is the best for SEO and for general use? Thanks, BlueEew.
IMO it doesn't matter which you use just as long as you pick www or non-www, redirect one to the other and stick with it. I keep the www off some long URLs and for some of my short URLs the aesthetic is best when displaying the www You'll need to be consistent across your use of posting/using whichever URL you end up choosing - make sure Google webmaster and other tools have the right correct URL if you want to be specific with them.
In that case I think I will go with the "www.", I have always used it when making back links and myself prefer it.
