sexxxclub who says so, yes i can because google bought the .com.*country tld* of that country but not the www.google.*country tld* and im friend of the guy in charge of the domains in that country. @chandan ill buy the domain for 50-100 bucks im planning to re-sell for high $xxxxxx as you said but not to google lol. can i get sued?? :S
Well if you are planning upon fighting google for that domain in Court , go ahead and take it , Keyword "GOOGLE" was invented by google and therefore it belongs to google only , they can sue anyone who uses their word . It dont matter if its on other country's tld , the word still belongs to Google Stay away from such trademark domains as much as possible
thats the thing ,unless you find someone with big money and stupid to buy it , thats unlikely to happen Good luck
I dont think many will dare to buy it from you. If you google wants it, they takes it. Does it receive any traffic?
Well, some years ago there was gooogle.com, site that contained malware. After some years of negotiation, finally Google won and now the domain it's theirs. In your case, maybe you could sell it without being sued, but this depends on the country TLD. I'd think it twice before registering. But if you do, then park it.
Are you asking xxx$ or xxxxxx$ cause that's probably going to cover the legal costs. good luck and I hope you sell it though just to see what happens. ROOFIS
I wish you luck my friend. Google is a trademarked term, and therefore you are infringing on their term by owning the domain. It would be the same thing as if another soft drink company tried to call their product Pepsi. I would be very interested to see what you could sell it for, but I guarantee that Google finds out about it quickly. Kevin
Actually google means infinite - I think in fact "Google" is the name for the highest value there is. I remember doing some research on this a while back, there is some math behind the name and an actual value for it. In any case, I believe Google is a registered trademark, and that's why this person will get sued for the domain name. Better gift it to them man. They WILL sue you and they MAY give you something for giving the domain to them.
You may be able to redirect any traffic that comes to the domain via typein, but I don't think you will be able to have a landing page on the domain itself, like what is done with google . cm Could you get sued? Dunno, maybe, probably. Before you spend 50-100 bucks on it, I would suggest you spend a few $x,xxx seeking legal advice from a team of specialized lawyers. Cheers James
