www dot Jobs?

Earlier this week I bought a website and the domain was registered at Go Daddy so I needed to register there.

When I looked at the search bar I looked at the extenstions and I saw .jobs I have never heard of this extension before.

How old is it and is it going to be worth anything?

The are 119$ for 1 year.

Definately not a popular extention. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my money buying a .jobs extention, especially with those ripoff fees per year

.jobs, a waste of money which can just be justified by using a subdomain.

The thing is, you can't buy any old domain, you have to match it to your company, AND you have to be a company in the first place.

Some may say .mobi can be done with subdomains too but atleast its open for all. Domani specualtion, selling sites, links, ads etc. can all be done on .mobi but can't really be done on .jobs

In short, a waste of a TLD.

$119 for a .jobs domain! - go for a cheaper alternative.

I personally won't touch these domains where you have to 'prove' some kind of ownership (.name, .us, .jobs, .travel...)

Your company would have to be called steve and it only be allowed to list jobs available at your company. Entirely useless. Don't apply as you'll lose some of your money!!

.edu was launched in 1985 - and there wasn't a huge amount of debate about it.

"Created in January 1985 as one of the first top-level domains, .edu was originally intended for educational institutions anywhere in the world."
