I've got a poker-related site as well, so i kinda know what a ordinary poker site looks like. This one's a bit different, which is a good thing. I like the fact that you focused more on detailed topic related to poker... These things make you stand out of the crowd. The most visited pages of my poker site are those which describe 'niche' information on poker.
Although the design isn't award-winning (sorry :p), it's functional, and not overly abundant in ads.

If you're interested in trading a link, just PM me, and we'll set something up.

Well.. I alway loved the simplicity of a CMS system. It's free, and the templates are usually vast in number. Since i personally do not know much about php, such a system is a great way of producing a decent product in a fast way. Perhaps you could play a bit with colors and stuff as well... Something I always do before finally settling for a design, is capturing the lay out of the site (print screen), pasting it in Paint shop or Paint, and 'filling out' the blocks of colors, to see the effect of it easily. This way, the palette of your site can be determined easily before the actual coding in the css stylesheet.

    Hope that helps.

    Contentking,

thanks, The colors right now are much better than what it was before. I've changed it couple times and so far this has been the most favorite among the users.

But i'll definitely do the print screen thing, it's a good strategy.

I like the color scheme. I think if you center the layout, it would be more presentable. Create some nice graphic menu. And think about better spacing of your content. The logo looks ragged.

    Thanks,

I honestly think the whole design should be changed to something more "Poker" site and rather attractive (i dont want it to be flashy though - i want to keep it simple).

I'm hoping to get more advertisement and use the money to pay someone to redesign the template.

    Thanks for the inputs.

your site looks good but if you choose a diffirent colour instead of black (on the top and on the footer ) it will be better

Hmm, I think the black looks a little dark, maybe a lighter grey or dark brown.
    But overall, nice site.
