www.AppraiseMy.Name Hi everyone, I just created my first website. It is a Domain name appraisal website, where domain name owners can submit their names for free, and have others vote on them using a polling system. Anyone can make appraisals, but you need to register to post your names. Their are 11 different responses for voting on a particular name, they are listed below. 1) $0- Reg Fee 2) Low $XX- Mid $XX 3) Mid $XX- High $XX 4) Low $XXX- Mid $XXX 5) Mid $XXX- High $XXX 6) Low $X,XXX- Mid $X,XXX 7) Mid $X,XXX- High $X,XXX 8) Low $XX,XXX- Mid $XX,XXX 9) Mid $XX,XXX- High $XX,XXX 10) Low $XXX,XXX- Mid $XXX,XXX 11) Mid $XXX,XXX- High $XXX,XXX People can vote on each listing only once- which prevents spam and abuse of the system. Please let me know what you think about the design/content/rating system, etc. Thanks ! -AppraisalDude
Signed up, don't like the way you have to click subscribe now and enter details again for multiple domain listings though. Apart from that, nice site.
The design looks pretty good. I like the icons used on the frontpage as well and all the rounded corners help keep your site different from most of the "boxy" sites on the Net. -Jon
Thanks for the kind words/advice. I am actually going to look into removing the "subscribe now" requirement to post additional names once a person already has an account, thanks for pointing that out reyna. -domainer
i like the website, nice clean design and smart domain name hopefully it will become big in the future as there are barely any domains and etc
I really like the idea of the site and generally like the design. My two issues are this: 1. After I submit a rating, I am required to hit the back button twice. It seems like there could be something better. 2. I REALLY despise sites that auto-scroll up to the top of the page when using the back button. If I'm scrolled down 1/2 way, I want to stay in the same spot when I return. I have no idea what causes this but it is very annoying. A thought I have would be to add a guide to teach people what they should consider when rating a domain. You might consider having people rate the individual criteria involved and having your system calculate the value. I can see asking the public for opinions about if a name looks brandable or easy to remember but I don't see what the general public would know about the value of a domain name. Just a thought.
I like the idea/domain of the site other than the domain name. I see what you were trying to accomplish with this but all in all .name domains are not in.
Thanks again for the advice guys. I am definitely going to work to use your suggestions. eshop- I know that .name is not worth anything in itself, but I registered it as a play on words. AppraiseMy Name- like a phrase in itself- please "appraisemyname". anyway, thanks. btw, feel free to add any of your names- it can't hurt !
Hey I just revamped to color of the site and added a few more features. When users submit their domain names or developed websites, they now also provide: 1) Traffic/Visitor Stats: 2) Status: (domain name or developed website) 3) Extension 4) Registration Date 5) Description/Additional Info Let me know what you think- The template was changed from red to light orange so I would also appreciate some feedback on the color(s), too. Thanks !! Domainer
You have a good idea but in all truth it doesn't really value a domain it mostly goes by traffic, and can be design/content but I don't know..
I reall like the name that you have, and the design - also you ads flow in the design and dont look odd and finally you need your own logo at the top.
