SummerSlam is generally regarded as one of the â€œbig fourâ€ WWE pay-per-view shows of the year. The lineup this year represents a two-match show with one of the most intriguing bottom cards of the year. WWE SummerSlam definitely has the potential to be a blow-away event.

On paper, this is a two-match show. The show is missing that one big canâ€™t-miss match that past SummerSlams had. The â€œdream matchâ€ between John Cena and Batista along with a Hell in the Cell match between Edge and Undertaker are the centerpieces of Sundayâ€™s event. Whether these matches along with a healthy under card deliver on Sunday is another question altogether.

Undertaker vs. Edge in a Hell in the Cell Match

For everything you can say negative about WWE booking, they got this one right. I never thought they could generate interest in a match that has been delivered four times since March. However, the angle has given this one new life and interest in a fifth match in 2008.

The Undertaker really needs a win here. Keeping him off for months doesnâ€™t mean a whole lot if he comes back and loses right away. I would bet that Vickie Guerrero is somehow involved in the finish of the match. Edge won the last match which was a TLC at One Night Stand. The two have great chemistry and have stolen the last four shows they featured. My prediction is Undertaker gets a win but somehow or another Edge keeps his heat.

John Cena vs. Batista

This is a rare babyface vs. babyface match. These matches can be intriguing when a title is involved. Unfortunately with no title involved, I really donâ€™t see the point of the match. Other than Mike Adamle making the match, what is really the point? Unlike Edge-Taker, I feel the ball was completely dropped in building up this match. The names alone wonâ€™t cut it.

Both guys need a win here. Both guys are coming off losses at the Great American Bash. I have a sneaky suspicion that there wonâ€™t be a conclusive finish to this one. Batista probably needs the win a little more here after being screwed against Punk at the G.A.B. If I have to pick a winner here, I am going with Batista. I also think that this is the first of a trilogy between these two.
