World War 2 Talk PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYMENT PLANS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. I am looking to sell simply as I have taken the site as far as I am willing to and it now needs someone to spend some time on monetization and further development of the site. This subject of WW2 is the best kind of subject a forum can have. Its historical and educational, it appeals to the masses. The posts whether made today or two years ago are still very relevant given your debating a historical subject and thats key to the success of a site like this unlike most forums where posts made days ago are pretty much out of date and serve only to enhance overall post counts but nothing more. The forums have recently been mentioned in a new book about the Coleraine Battery and has been referred to numerous times by BBC Reasearchers in the UK who often frequent the site researching their upcoming programs. So it gets a high profile in the right areas. The forums run on Vbulletin The design is completely unique and was done by myself, so you will never find it anywhere else. http://www.ww2talk.com Created in early 2004 the site has went from strength to strengh, it forms the core of the network and is without doubt the most popular, its based around vbulletin and has a number of mods installed to enhance the site. There a number of loyal moderators who keep the site going and will without doubt remain. As a WW2 forum there are no other sites worth spending time on that dont have a bias of some sort, this site does not. Some stats for you: Full webalizer stats are here http://www.ww2talk.com/webalizer Established: February 2004 Posts: 38,217 Threads: 3,842 Members: 2,875 Webalizer Stats for March 2006: Visitors: 26,162 Page hits: 1,632,285 Page Rank ww2talk.com has pagerank of 3 www.ww2talk.com has pagerank of 4 Originally the site was run under wwiitalk.com and that domain points to ww2talk.com, it is included: wwiiforum.com has pagerank of 2 www.wwiiforum.com has pagerank of 5 Software The site runs a leased VB license and these can no longer be transferred. VBSEO software has been installed last month, this software is included to for your use, http://www.vbseo.com Vbulletin 3.5.4 VBSEO Various mods have been installed using the new VB plugin system Advertising The most recent advertising I carried out was for 3 weeks before we changed to VB, I ran Bidvertiser ads on a 468 x 60 at the top of the forums and made $13.30 during that 3 week period, I dont think bidvertiser pays out all that well though, google or ypn would be better. Proof of the bidvertiser income is available on request. I do get numerous requests for ads to be put on site and only recently started to put something together to accomodate this in the form of phpadsnew. It has not been finished though. No other revenue has been made other than a couple of hundred bucks some time ago running google ads for the 60th anniversary war veteran fund. That money was made over just a couple of months so the potential is there, probably more so as the site has grown so much since then. Any questions on this site please ask. Starting Price is $2,000
The links you have on the site are link exchanges? They will remain after the site sold ? Also why yoy have removed the adsense code ? Finally where are the stats for May 2006 ?
The links on the site are to my other sites and they will stay as they are relevant to the both ww2talk and those sites, they will remain. I removed the adsense code when I changed the site from invision to VBulletin, just never put the code back up, been advertising my other sites at the moment. Not sure what happened to the may webalizer stats, will update it.
There is no adsense ban issue right ? I will talk to my partner and i'll come back to this thread. Any bin in mind ?
Nope the site has not been banned from adsense, I am just not hungry enough to exploit the advertising side of things. Updated webalizer stats including May are being uploaded now, should be available in about 5 minutes or so.
Has this been for sale in the past? I'm really interested, but seeing some signs of decay in the community. Many of the moderators seem to not be very active recently. Traffic to the site seems in general decline since the beginning of the year. Can you comment on that? What was it making with Adsense when you were running the ads?
Sorry the webalizer stats dont seem to display what is shown in Cpanel after I copied them to a different Directory, here is a screen of what the actual stats are and I will try to copy them again to display the right stats, as you can see there is certainly no decline or decay. Most of the modertors are active, 1 died recently and a couple of the other are actual veterans of ww2 so dont post as much as they used to for obvious reason of health and so on, but having them as mods is good for the site. Here is a screen of the stats as seen in Cpanel. http://www.ww2talk.com/ww2.jpg
some questions were asked at dnforum.com, here is the answer No the entire network does not come with it. I can include the following sites theholocaust.co.uk ww2directory.com ww2site.com ww2planes.info ww2tanks.info Depends on the offer. The real value of ww2site.com is the name, rather than its current content. The other sites are being developed and I am not selling them. I can't get exact stats on users online, but currently there are 20 online which for the time of day is good, generally there anyhting up to 20 members and 10 guests online at peak times. If you look at the forum stats at the bottom there between 60 - 100 memebrs visiting per day. According to webalizer stats for May 81 countries visited 38% US 20% Network 13% UK 12% Unknown The rest made up of other countries. Hope that helps. Two offers of $2,000 received so far Site will be hosted for up to 3 months if required. I will move site to new owners server, providing its to cpanel and mysql versions are compatible.
