Funny information, using robtex.info, I could discover that Filesonic.com and wupload are basically hosted at the same place.

Let's add to this that filesonic.com and wupload.com run the same software, under different designs but using the same features and providing the same functionalities.

And lastly, a whois reports both of them are Hong-Kong based, though it's under different names.

Is it just me, or are we WAY past simple coincidences ?

I'm not trying to shout BURN THE WITCH, mind you.
Simply, when it comes to a choice and you want to be paid per downloads (not per signups, it's then a different matter), my advice is to use filesonic when you share in majority small files (below 100 MB, let's say), and wupload.com when you share larger files. Since it's the same entity behind it, eventually, it all comes down to their paying tables.

 

Except 1 MB - 50 MB file tier Wupload's PPD table is better than Filesonic.

 

Well, I'm just speaking from my personal experience. 50-100 MB are rather rare in my internet postings, so you might be right.

 

Yes, for posting small files like clips, ebooks etc filesonic might be the better choice.

Dear Admins and people, for 2 days I try to realise why When I upload files on servers... and I see low speed on servers I deleted the files, but the files don`t deleted from servers... only from my account and when I try to upload it on different server to offer people better download speed, I upload on different server but WHEN PEOPLE DOWNLOAD... DON`T DOWNLOAD FROM SECOND SERVER CHOOSEN BY ME AFTER DELETING THE FILE AND REUPLOADED.... PEOPLE DOWNLOAD FILE FROM FIRST SERVER WITH LOW QUALITY EVEN I DELETED FROM MY ACCOUNT THE FILE ON THAT SERVER IS A ECONOMY OF SPACES OF SERVERS?

With other words you can`t offer to people to change download server after you upload a file... Is like I upload a file X to a server Y ..... download server is the server Y ... But I don`t like the download speed on server Y so I delete the file from my account and I upload it on different server of upload server Z ... When People download the file after I upload it second time... people download it from the same server of the begin from server Y .... why you do these changes ??? Remember the file must have the same size make a try to see that I Have right... I don`t like this change...

If someone don`t understand me... just make a test upload a file on a server and remember the name of server (example s100.wupload or s100.filesonic) and after upload was finish delete the file from your account and upload the same file on a different server (example s102) and after upload was finished try to download the file to see that the file isn`t on last server uploaded (s202) and is on the first server upload s100 .... I DON`T LIKE THIS ! I have servers with low speed and I want to delete files and reupload on different server and to be downloaded from the last server where I upload them .

 

I get you - they don't delete files straight away just your links - this is incase you do upload it again or others have the same file. this is to save them server space.
and speed wise - this is only slow when connections are being bottlenecked. when this calms down it will be fast again.

 

Man if I am on hurry to upload something and I don`t have speed of download the people will never come again... I must give them the maximum speed and I don`t like to modify my files always to can reupload them like last days... I always must check the servers and I found 3 4 5 links broken I cant reupload them... I must modify size to can upload on better servers...

 

OMG, Is it real that if I am free user my files live only 30 days, (not from last download) It is very bad thing

In terms of speeds, we're constantly working to increase speeds of both uploads and downloads, but there are some servers which will be handling more requests than others, leading to bottlenecks during peak hours.

willy im only getting 1p from people in the untied states when they download my files and it says in your table that United States, United Kingdom, Germany gets the highest downloads

On another note, I can tell you about some webmasters discussion in another place (it's members only, so I can't share a link), Willy, it also applies to filesonic.

At the present time, your way of managing file duration over time is doing you harm. When webmasters understand that, past the first month, the files die in just 3 days if there has been no downloads, they get VERY angry.

Its about "the long trail" theory. If our files don't die, in the long term, old, less popular files, can generate almost as much traffic as the sparkingly new files.

Worst : for blog holders, your system is condemning us to have posts full with dead links. Not posts old by two years, no, dead by one or two months. With a few downloads per month, the old files stay alive with the other competitors, and die with wupload and filesonic. For frigging heaven's sake, this is suicidal in the long term !

It goes against our webmaster interest, and so, against your files locker interest, in the long run, you know.
