Don't ask for offers starting at $30 if your not willing to take them. If that is what you decided to start your BIDDING at and someone offers that you need to give it to them.

I dont think so, if it was an auction, then yes it would have to sell it to the highest bidder

But if he is taking offers, then he is not bound to sell it to Highest Offer.

OK atoztoa, you have been here a lot longer than me. I don't get the concept of accepting offers from $XX if they are not willing to take it. Honestly speaking, why would someone say offers from $xx if they really won't take it. If I start a post and I know that I need at least $50 for that domain then I will start it at $50.

Sorry, I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I am just trying to learn the logic on this.

Well, try to link it with our real life.

Someone can offer any amount to us for any property we own, Its upto us to whether accept it or not. So anyone can offer any amount.

But if its an auction, then we are bound to sell it to the highest bidder.

    Hope that clarifies

I understand your point of view.

What confuses me is WHY BOTHER saying I will start taking offers at xx if they have ZERO intention of accepting it.

That is like saying I have a house I want to sell for 100k for but start the offers at 50k. At 50k I have no intention of accepting the offer, therefor making the offer useless.

Probably to invite other people to "bump" the thread.

Just like those LLL.com's threads, "start offer from 1k"...
While we all know the seller won't accept anything below 6k.

But by inviting offers from 1k, many people would "try their luck", thus "bumping" the thread -> more exposure.

you have a point, but sometimes people do accept offers less than what they expect. Sometimes people look for offers to have an idea of the value of domain, and then they set a BIN.

for example, if a person thinks that his domain is worth lets say a 1000 $
but if he is getting very low offers then he will revalue his domain.

Thanks guys. I see the SALES logic, just not the functionality of it. :D

We have taken this post enough I guess, lol. Ummm I will bid $35, as long as you push first.

PS, all for nothing...lol. I just noticed he said I am going to sell it for $34. This was a good post anyway though because I see that a lot on the forums.
