This blogsite offers free Wordpress themes for download. Giving away Wordpress themes for free is a fantastic way to build links.

Why?

Because you can very easily modify a Wordpress theme so that the footer contains a link. Once you've edited the footer, you can simply save it and zip it up and put it on your site for download.

People then come and download and use the theme for their own sites, giving you a quality backlink! Why do I say quality? Because search engines love blogs - blogs are content rich and a link on a blog is a good link.

If your Wordpress theme site gets lots of visitors (this one does, it got 10096 visitors last month), then you will get lots of downloads and potentially lots of people using your modified themes which have your link in it.

In fact, you can change your link according to the theme. For example, if the Wordpress theme is golf themed, and you have a golf site, then you could put a link of your golf site in the footer of the golf Wordpress theme! This way you can have a very relevent backlink for your site. After all, a link is more valuable if the site linking to it is in the same niche (uses the same keywords, theme, etc.)

Its a Wordpress blog, so you have total access over the site content. The files including the themes are hosted on the server, so you have access to them. No need to create themes on your own, there are plenty of free themes on the web, just download, modify and upload to the site!

I recently bought this and have no time to do anything. I haven't even changed the adsense ads. The cpanel stats is the only thing I have as provided by the previous seller, and I've posted it in the original thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought changing the footer link to yours is like stealing other people's work.

 

Why should it be? Unless they have terms which state you can't remove the footer URL for example, you could simply add your URL in addition to the existing URL and information - no problem in that. Also what I talked about in the original post was my grand idea for the site, you could just monitise the site through advertising, but personally I saw the potential in inserting your link withing the actual template as being far more lucrative.

There really is nothing to stop you extending at many times as you want DP staff dont give a shit but those who have bidded do and will mostly stay clear of you as being a bad person to do business with ....its your rep your messin up

This is what I'm talking about. Nothing in a DP sales thread is binding. People just retract their bids and even change their minds once the auction is over if they feel like it, so surely you can't get offended if I increase the length of the auction

You can retract your bid, but that shows you weren't serious in buying the site in the first place.

 

Sorry Mage but it just seems like bad business practice to me. You should mean what you say. Just very simple business practice that is common sense. There is no reason why any of these bidders should trust you now. Im with Almac and Gareth_Boyd on this one.
