The http://phpvideoscript.org website is not a trick. A few friends of mine are being sued and might face jail time for running this type of website. Be very careful when doing streaming movie sites.

A part of the TOS of the phpvideoscript.org requires that post it's phpvideoscript.org and where to purchase of a copy of the script. If your selling a website and users want to just purchase a copy of the script. Your in violation of that TOS.

Also, this person does not have authorization to sell just the script. If you purchase just the script from them then you will not be supported and it would be an illegal copy.

As far as I know the script is under a free licence, so the new owner may download and use it - the seller will just give him the database... There is no violation here, because he does not sell the script, but a site using the script. Wordpress can not be sold too, but see how much blogs are sold around...

 

MrGee: "As far as you know". That is the key sentence in what you have said. It seems you don't know. It isn't a free script. It was freely allowed to be downloaded for a time. Disturbing the software was not allowed outside the original support forum. I think you misunderstand and your putting it in the same category as Wordpress. With your years and years of under taking a law degree, we will all follow exactly what you know. With that said, under the set forth terms, if you sell the script alone it is illegal, if you sell a website with it, then you must post the phpvideoscript.org site too, if anyone wants to purchase a copy. Cheers.

 

I didn't ment that I am giving the script away or something, it was just that I thought that there are alternative download links (outside the forum) of the old version, which is free. At least I thought that way and it seems that I misunderstand. Anyway, I was just expressing an opinion and nothing more - I do not sell the site.

PS: I ain't no legal expert or anything. Just expressing my view.
