WTS: Currency Exchange Coordination Website

I am interested in selling my currency exchange website at http://www.giveswitch.com . The site provides a way for users to change their ePassporte dollars into PayPal dollars, and the other way around. As any ePassporte user knows, it can be a chore moving money in and out of these accounts. The market for this service will only increase now that DigitalPoint has banned these types of exchange requests from their forums.

Making money with this site is simple. I have done absolutely no marketing with this site, and I get instant messages/live help requests daily for people wanting to move money. You collect a healthy 8% of any transfer you make, and can pick and choose who to do business with.

Best of all, we have a track record of proven transactions...no negative feedback, here, and we have been encouraging our customers to leave positive feedback on the different webmaster forums that still allow this.

    Sale includes:

    Exclusive custom design
Domain registered with GoDaddy through 11/2/2008
    Free hosting until domain expiry
Light customizations (to include your website copy etc.)
    Integration with live help system

You can make a large amount of money with this site, limited only by your ability to keep your ePassporte and PayPal accounts funded. This is why I am selling...the site really needs someone with a few hundred dollars that they can just float for a while while they earn their commissions.

Let's start the bidding at $50, and we'll close the bidding on Friday at 6:00PM EST.

I have not been running any statistics on the site, but I can tell you that it doesn't receive a ton of traffic, as I have done no marketing for the site. For this reason, the site can be considered more of a turnkey solution.

In terms of profits, I don't have statistics because I have only done a very few exchanges. Most people who contact me (again, this is almost daily) want to move between $100 and $500, largely to load online casinos. If you have this amount of money to keep "floating" between your accounts, you will do well at 8% per transaction (or whatever percentage you decide to charge). All you have to do is crank up the marketing, and stay honest with your customers.

    I hope this is helpful.

    thanks

I think a BIN of $250 seems fair. If not, however close we get.

    thanks.

I'm wondering what's the legalities? If DP stopped it there must've been a good reason.

By the way, isn't there a legality to all this? After thinking about it, it kinda feels like you're the middleman in helping people launder money from one place to the other. I mean.....what if someone steals a credit card, sends you $2000 of that stolen money from ePassporte, and you go ahead and give the person $2000 - 8% of YOUR clean money via Paypal.

Next thing you know, your phone starts ringing, or someone with a baseball bat knocks on your door ;)

As already pointed out, I don't have proof of income for the site. It was started in November of last year, and I haven't had the budget needed to run it effectively.

The design is a modification of a TemplateMonster template.

To be clear, DP didn't stop the sale of this website, just private-party user-to-user exchange requests.

As far as I know, operating a service of this type does not violate any sites' terms and conditions, and there are at least two other websites that I can think of operating in the same space. This website kills thems in terms of presentation, however, and (as currently set up) is less expensive, making it the only "real" option for customers. Any marketing will make this website the only game in town.

As far as potential "laundering" and fraud issues...that's between you and your God. :) If you start doing a lot of business, talking to a lawyer might not be a bad idea.

thanks, and I will be happy to answer any further questions.

I just got a private message with some good questions. I thought I would post my responses here, since they will be of interest to anyone considering purchasing this site:

Thanks for your interest. Here are the answers to your questions:

    1) What is the current issue with StormPay?

There actually isn't an issue with Stormpay...I just don't have a StormPay account. When I wrote the copy for the site, I planned on adding many more transfer options.

    2) Don't Paypal and ePassporte take a cut of each tansaction or can you transfer between accounts somehow?

Yes, both have transfer fees. I just eat those as part of the 8%, in an effort to make things seem as simple as possible to the user. Other sites make a big production out of the breakdown of fees, and I wanted to avoid this.

    3) On the website you say that "Most transfers can be completed within minutes." What things might cause a delay.

There shouldn't be any circumstances under which there is a delay, provided you keep all of your accounts well funded. The main reason I am selling is because I got too many requests for an exchange that I just couldn't handle financially.

    4) You mention a couple of competitors. Would you be willing to tell me what websites?

There are two that come to mind:

    http://paypasstransfer.com/
Excellent, fast, well-funded service, budget website.

    http://bucksshift.com/
Budget site, very limited fund availability.

Basically, I just wanted GiveSwitch to be a much more legitimate version of the above, that would inspire confidence in users.

There may be more; try a Google search for "transfer money between epassporte and paypal" . You'll get a good feel for how many people are looking for this service, as well as see that GiveSwitch is conveniently listed at number 11.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
