Just finished writing a trial article for a guy that wanted articles on Africa. He decided it wasn't what he wanted and then cut off communication (not from DP, no one here would do that). It's about a recent law passed in Mozambique that finally outlaws human trafficking. Anyway, I was kind of bummed because I'd spent some good time researching the topic and I thought I had achieved an interesting style. Below is a sample from the middle of the 550 word article: "This is obviously a tragedy on a personal level. Every year at least 1,000 individuals are made to leave their homes and work for no pay in the agriculture industry of South Africa or worse, as prostitutes. However, even if ten times as much human trafficking were taking place as IOM has uncovered, it would still represent only four one-hundredths of one percent of the Mozambican population. There are certainly greater human rights tragedies on the continent. The real victory in the legislation is that Mozambique passed this legislation on its own without any Western influence." I enjoyed the writing and the research and would like to continue the project, but I can't afford to continue a project I'm not getting paid for.
