Hi, I can explain the basics quickly while I've got nothing to do for free of course. Basically if you're doing simple re-seller hosting then all you need is to purchase a hosting account which allows WHM and contains the statistics you need. For example, with the instance of hostgator for $24.95 you get: Disk space 50GB Bandwidth 500GB So you can have 9 clients with 5GB disk space and 50GB bandwidth each, and WHM will automatically ensure they don't go over their quota. WHM also comes with a feature to create accounts very easily and then your customer gets a cPanel account too. Edit (I used the example of 9 clients so that you create an account for your self, of course you could have 100 clients under this spec or whatever you're after) To go more in depth, if you want to automate the process i.e a client signs up and automatically gets their account created, through the usage of WHM again you can use tools they sell such as WHMCS and WHM Autopilot. Through the usage of a programmer you can create your website to automatically bill your client and setup their accounts. However these are also costly, but if you do choose to use hostgator to start off with they provide it for free. Even though I've used hostgator as an example in this you'll see many web hosts offer WHM however don't have autopilot and whmcs with it, which you'll have to pay for externally. If your business grows it would be smarter to use a dedicated server as reseller accounts typically don't give you a lot of specifications. Hostgator offer dedicated servers or you could use a provider such as Softlayer, OVH etc. If that's a correct answer to your question then I hope I helped.
Are you currently having a reseller hosting or you need to take it from some where? Which OS you are looking for, linux or windows? If you are not having any idea, then I recommend linux. You have to take care of lot of things if you are going to start hosting business. I hope its not for just hosting your own websites. Like James said, Hostgator is one of the current best, though some negatives are there. But see, there is no provider in this domain without demerits. I am in this industry for the last 6 years.
