I am looking for an awesome article writer.. You will: - Write me 5 articles at 1,000 words each - Do the necessary research and write compelling material that people will actually want to read - Be a Native English speaker. No exceptions. - Send me at least 2 samples of your written work. I will: - Pay you $20 per article upon completion and review. Please, please, PLEASE do NOT waste my time (and yours) if you are NOT a Native English speaker... I cannot stress this enough. Thanks for reading!
Here we go again. A good offer with a reasonable price for a change. And the caveat is "native English speaker". Again. It is getting to the point that I am beginning to feel that it is not the quality of actual work done that the OP is looking for but rather making sure that only "native English speakers" are paid a fair price for their work. Other lesser beings only deserve the meatless scraps of bones which are normally condescendingly tossed to the hungry, homeless mongrels?
Wow, you are absolutely correct! How did you know!?!? Anyway, still looking for a writer... a native English speaker please
On the flip side, native English speaking writers have to contend with third world writers who will work for pennies, making it next to impossible for a North American writer to survive on the pay rates that non-English speaking workers have driven the market value down to. If there weren't so many Asian writers working for pennies, the clients wouldn't expect everything to be done for pennies. If you want someone who knows the language and can speak it fluently, you're going to have to pay a good rate for it. North American readers can tell when content is written by someone who doesn't speak the language fluently and it isn't a big selling point for most. People ask for Native English writers, and offer a pay rate that suits the need because they don't want some garbled half-cocked English that their market isn't going to like. Getting a native English writer at least increases your chance that your readers will understand what is being written. So if you're English is good enough that no one will notice, why bother even mentioning it? No one is going to notice anyways. Just apply for the job and do the work well. Or do you feel the need to be honest because you know there is some lack of fluency that may be be detectable? If there is, well there's your reason for not hiring you at the same rate. Even though foreign writers may know the language perfectly, the natural flow of their writing isn't always naturally North American is style. I say just lie and say you're North American based writer if your work is good and you're perfectly fluent...
