WTF?!? Why is google not doing something about this?

how did you find this was happening? I am wondering because I saw in my logs a while back that I am getting traffic from "sex" related websites or "casino" related sites. When I go to visit the url, many of them don't exist and if they do no where on the site is my link. My site has no affiliation nor is "similar" to those sites. Could this be the proxy thing taking place? I have noticed my traffic has dropped over the last few months.

 

I can't remember exactly which search command I used but this should bring up some results: "domain.com" index.php?

Oh and I found it because I started checking things out when rankings dropped. Also try running your site through copyscape.

If you would like I would be glad to give you a link on SEOchat.com for an article I wrote in Feb 2005 on how reciprocal links can hurt you.

Had you spent time and read you would see it discusses submitting a sitemap.

I know to get included in Google one needs just one solid link to get the bot crawling.

Perhaps instead of trying to make yourself look more important or all knowing than me you could learn to read and comprehend what others post better.

I did not make assumptions I used common sense business methodologies to discuss possible flaws to chicken little the sky is falling posts like yours..

The only FACT that needed posting, was that the proxy duplicate exploit is very real - and Google has known about it for over a year and half now ...

But, I've been outed as a liar and a rambling repeater, so I will leave the real SEO help up to the know-it-alls like yourself ....

This proxy exploit even though was an old news, yet it still hurt many website until now. Modern Google filter seem can only recognized the home page and few sub-folder, not all deep page/or the real content page.
Up to this point, Google Bot still intercept other people sites from this proxy site and can't tell from fake or real. Better believe it people.

Why not test the theory? ..evil as it is. Someone volunteer an indexed domain and someone else can see if they can get it de-indexed.

 

Sem-Advance has already offered one of his sites up as the sacrificial lamb.

I have a feeling that he's safe...

 

I just removed, google, yahoo, msn, ask and dp forums from Google....

I doubt if there is such an exploit which exists otherwise people would have been discussing it everywhere if its a year old thing. Was not able to spot anything about it on matt cutts as well.
