WTF- PR2 Only

My site got updated from PR0 to PR2:mad: I have spent many effort to build links at past 2 months, and got around 180 - 200 back links which Google only recognized 6 links

WTF, Google has changed their back links calculation, they only calculate the links point to your individual pages, not your site

Most of my links is point to www.abcdef.com, and 6 links is point to www.abcdef.com/xyz.html. then Google only count these 6 links, I got six pages is PR2 right now:eek:

If you start build links for next round, I suggest you link like this www.abcdef.com/index.php................

    Gooooooooooooooogle:mad:

wait, your page updated its pagerank? i thought it was the backlink update now then pagerank next week or something, but its probably still going on so just dont get worried about it being PR2 can change later on. mine did last time - went from pr0 to pr1 for a day then the next day settled at pr3

So far mine went from pr0 to pr4! I am hoping it stays that way. I agree with njoker. It may settle back to a higher pr soon. The update is still going on.

    the update is quite shitty.
it took away pr from really high quality sites which link to mine. degraded one from pr7 to pr6.
another one of a friend, which is listed in dmoz went from pr5 to pr3. really dissapointing...

Ive seen drops in my sites as well which was wierd as I have more quality and more backlinks.

I am hoping its not the end and they will settle higher.

Maybe some links are not as valuable anymore after Google uses more of the LSI factor..

    Very wierd update.
2 sites went from PR2 to PR3 with internal pages went from 0 to 4. Neither site had many links pumped to it.
1 site went from PR1 to PR2 but hardly any link juice at all.
1 site is still the same PR2 as it has been for SEVEN years. However the internal pages went up. I started working on this site for a client Mar 1 and it has TONS of links now. It does well in the serps now but PR doesn't do squat. SIGH I guess it isn't over since it is now showing 0 in some datacenters. Perhaps they just haven't done that one page. I will keep an eye on it.

Looks like my PR5 blog is going to drop to PR4, my forums are staying at PR3, and my directory is still PR0 (I didn't expect a change on that one, it's a month old).

did you check your backlinks in google using the link: command? Google only shows you a small sample of your total links use yahoo to check your links....

Google PR is assigned to individual pages not entire sites...when you get a link to widget.com and widget.com/me.html they are counted different....

One reason for PR drop is that a of sites, especially "web directories" are losing the ability to pass PR. A lot of sites are also utilizing the rel=nofollow tag which prevents the links from passing PR..

plus you guys do know that PR and your sites rankings are not at all related
