Good...you should channel your energy into doing merchant and product reviews on your blog and then placing affiliate banners and/or links under the post. I would recommend joining CJ.com, Linkshare and Shareasale, apply to some merchants, see who accepts you, and starting reviewing somethings you have interest in and researching others...

Yeah, I've found that the interest aspect is key. If you don't at least like what you're marketing, how are you going to make it likable to people who want it? From an adsense blog perspective, blogging about something I like is so much easier than blogging about something I don't, even though the keywords aren't as high-priced. In the long run, I've always made more money on sites that I liked, even when the keywords go for 3, 4, even 5 times less than other, more lucrative ones on adwords.

Remember you dont even need a website. Though I do run a few. For example right now I found a little niche that for every £3 I am spending on ppc with adwords, I am making around £8 - £12 every 2 days. Might not seem a lot, but remember this is through no promotion, not even my own landing page. Find 2 or 3 of these and thats about £540 ($1000+) a month doing practically nothing. Play about and test things and goodluck ;)

It really is that simple, adwords, adwords keyword tool and a niche, if whatever you spend on clicks is far smaller than the actual commission you are making, you are winning, do this over and over, test, test test.

It is not necessarily about the product solely. Your success depends on the techniques you use to promote and partly on the product. The reason is simply because logically speaking, a product may be good in the eyes of someone and bad in the eyes of another. It's up to you to know how well to promote the product.

For instance, promoting computer RAM and you have no idea what Random Access Memory is yourself to an audience of Cat Food seekers, will make you swear and curse 1000 times more than now and still not get any result.

    3 things:
    • The product... How well do you know it ?
    • The audience. . . .Who are you trying to sell the stuff to and how likely are they to "fall for you" ?
    • Methods.... How are you going about it? Does you ambition to make money take over the necessity to better describe the content ?

There'r a few other things to consider, but don't go into something you don't understand. It's the same in the real world. A doctor learns 5+ yrs at University to make sure they master what they gonna be doing with our bodies! Same analogy here. . . . Learn about the product, love the product, and then promote the product!
    :)
