Few days ago I transfered some funds to my namecheap account and today I noticed something strange. I had 8$ in the namecheap and today I had 0.36$ which was the left amount I had before the last money transfer to my nc account.

After few hours I received this email from namecheaP:
    Hello,

Your Namecheap account was locked due to a chargeback for payment made on 5/20/2008
for the amount of $7.98. Please check the issue with paypal as to the reasons why
this happened. In the meantime we were charged a fee of $50 by our merchant
processor. You will need to pay us the fee we were charged plus the amount which
totals $57.98. If we do not hear back from you within 48 hours we will begin to
    disable your domains.

Charge backs aren't by Paypal, they're by your credit card company. Dare I say another failed attempt to defraud a genuine company?

Your credit card company or PayPal suspected fraud and took the money back from NameCheap. Namecheap is out $57.98. Contact your credit card company or PayPal to find out why they reversed the transaction.

Did you pay with your PayPal balance, pay via PayPal with a credit card, or pay Namecheap direct with a credit card? Did you use a virtual credit card?

As you did not use a credit card, tell them that and that you are only using your paypal balance to pay and thus there is no possibility that you requested a chargeback as that can be done through the credit card bank.

It really sounds like a good phishing email to me.

I hope you did not click on the links in the email.

I would go to namecheap and login to your account.

From there, you can better see what is going on.

Also do the same at paypal.
