Porn is one thing. I don't care about that. Kiddie porn is another matter entirely - Shaun, I applaud your action here.

    Thx.

you're going to have a few bad apples everywhere. as they say, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.....

co op is a great thing. this forum, along with the wonderful people who take the time to check, help to clear out the weeds.

Also, as I mentioned, there were NEVER any ads to anything porn (kiddie or otherwise) within that domain, so no one ever linked to it. It's impossible to check every page that a site runs as ON though. Just like some kiddie porn site could link to your site and there isn't a whole lot that you can do about it. Since they are now banned and get 0 weight from it, I'm *hoping* they will remove the ad network from their site altogether, but if they don't... again... not a whole lot that can be done about it... just like not a lot can be done about it if they link to your site "normally".

Didn't look, but it makes me sick just thinking about it.

Can you not find out who the culprit is and ban them from the co-op network??

I for one don't want that kinda shit on my websites.

Seriously dude, stay well clear - A rolled-up carpet in the trunk and a couple of baseball bats usually does the trick, no matter how far away the f***ers are...

    Thanks Shawn for removing them.

I have a site that for some reason I have tons of gambling and porn sites linking to it. Its my home site about my glass blowing business. The only thing I can think why porn sites might link to it is because there's the word blowing in it?? I dunno. Its just 6 pages of html. I of course don't reciprocate and the links in dont seem to harm the sight any.

I'm looking into how to report this site. I've never had anything like this come up.

As for the ad network I give it a big thumbs up. I had 5 new sites I had started around November and I found the coop through an email Shawn had sent out. My sites started with 0 weight. Now theyre weights range from 700 - 30,000. I'm ranking well with MSN and Yahoo and Google is now starting to pay some more attention to me.

Its been a great SEO learning experience for me.

I may be in the minority here, but I think there should simply be a link for submitting these concerns, allowing the folks in charge of the co-op to handle it. Hell, this forum gets a ton of traffic and we just publicized the hell out of a kiddie porn site (assuming that is what is there, I aint looking). It also just adds fuel to the fire of people trying to speak down on the program, (hey, look at what DP is allowing in their ad program, etc...)

I think it is great that we are checking links, especially during the early stages of this program, I just think we need some kind of proffesional format for reporting things if for nothing more than to cut down on bad press for the program. Just my two cents.

That is where the danger is, any site can join and then change content once in. Not saying this happened here but there is a huge danger when you have webmasters join who you don't know anything about!

Lets keep in mind that it looks like the domain *owner* actually just hosts sites.. its possible they didn't know it was on their server.. (bad deal for them, obviously.)

sitetutor, isn't the point that the site has now been banned? I've been reading these forums for a while now, sure its too bad this was pointed out in the past and not dealt with then...but its been dealt with now (to the extent that it can be).

Just keep clicking on those co-op links and report the ones that break the TOS. Obviously the best resource we have to keep the co-op clean is ourselves.
